LAUREN HITS THE ICE

Our Face of ESP is joining the mayor in a charity ice hockey game on Wednesday Decemebr 1 so head down to Planet Ice in Bretton and watch Lauren take to the ice.

The Christmas Cracker charity game starts at 7.30pm when local business people and Phantoms fans take to the ice once again to raise money this year for the mayor’s charities.

The mayor himself is taking part even though he and the rest of the players can’t skate!

That’s what it’s all about though and it gives them a chance to have a go and see just how difficult it is to play and appreciate the skill of the Phantoms players who take to the ice week after week.

Lauren says she’s nervous but looking forwrd to it – “I’m not too sure how I’ll do but it’s all for a good cause and I’m sure it’ll be great fun – especially for the people watching me fall over!”

The ESP promo girls will be along to lend their support and give out the latest issue so make sure you grab a copy and give Lauren a cheer when she takes to the ice!

Admission to the game is £3 adults and £1 kids and it’s just an hour long so you don’t have to worry about getting too chilly watching the action.

It is the funniest night of the year and a great way to raise money for the mayor’s charity – see you there!

Don’t forget the Peterborough Phantoms will be hosting their annual Air The Bear charity night on December 5, when they’ll also be facing local rivals, Milton Keynes Lightening. The idea is every spectator takes along a cuddly toy which, when the Phantoms score their first goal, are launched onto the ice. The cute creatures are then collected and donated to a worthy cause.

The team are now well into the season and are off to a good start, sitting just behind the leading group. With a new coach, Curtis Cruickshank, in charge and a handful of new players, they held on to the Ashes Trophy after defeating Milton Keynes Lightening and have won seven of their fourteen league games. This month the Phantoms are also playing against the Guildford Flames on December 12 and the Fife Flyers on December 19
