The first superstar to come from the Jungle and Drum’n’Bass scenes, Goldie is both a well respected producer and a household name – not bad when he works in a genre that tries to remain underground! Instantly recognisable for his rows of gold teeth, Goldie started out listening to hip-hop and hanging out with Nellee Hooper and 3-D of Massive attack, but discovered Jungle and Drum ‘n’ Bass thanks to the likes of DJs Fabio and Grooverider. He’s had major-label releases and worldwide tours, but it seems like he’s tired of being a celebrity and is returning to his roots with a set at Club Dissident on July 10 from 10pm – 5am.
It’s a chance to relive the glory days of Jungle and old-school Drum ‘n’ Bass, with one of the scenes biggest names playing in a 200-capacity venue that’s bound to get a little sweaty! Support on the night comes from Hertz regulars Mr Bang E, Komplex and Overdrive vs. Phix and a two hour pure Dreadnought records set from Total Dark Matter, Selecta and Hallsie back to back. The event’s hosted by Sn+per & T-Shot with MC’s Fire Boy / Spoze / Jeaver D
