THIS uplifting experience shows how a kids’ game should be done.
Disney games are steadily improving, and this extends the Up experience to children who loved the movie, with humorous dialogue, decent platforming and engaging environmental puzzles.
The gameplay is expectedly simplistic, but the cut-scenes – despite a bizarre opening battle that actually took place at the end of the film – and colourful graphics, will entice your kids to rise to the challenges ahead.
It doesn’t quite have the polish of a Pixar product, but with a ‘jump in and out’ co-op mode for parents to interact – coupled with the sometimes hilarious interaction between grouchy old man Carl and enthusiastic explorer Russell – it’ll keep your kids out of mischief for a few hours.
One of Disney’s best, and with games such as the massive Mario-style Epic Mickey around the corner, the ‘House of Mouse’ is starting to rise above the competition.
