After a sell out debut in Stamford the Dig Deep sound system returns to takes over Mama Liz’s Soulshack and The Voodoo Lounge (9a North Street) on Saturday May 30 for it’s quarterly event.
For their spring session the boys at Dig Deep will take over what is the best venue in Lincolnshire to pride themselves on providing quality Funk orientated music over both rooms, with Ju Roberts (Melting Pot/Friends), Pat Unwin (DigDeep) and Dr Shrink (Throwdown, Rocstar Records) serving up Classic Soul, Northern, Ska, Funk, HipHop, Breaks and Electronica in the Bar and downstairs in the Voodoo Lounge, Rick and Pat, Andy and Ian (SAS) and Steve Scallon will be celebrating the birth of Steve’s baby boy Matthew by spinning Deep funky soulful House music all night.
For those of you who’ve not visited the venue it follows a New Orleans theme throughout with awesome artwork by LA artist Shephard Fairy, a large outside terrace for clubbers to cool down and two well stocked bars with real ales, Belgian Beers and a good variety of Cocktails and spirits to help get the party started.
Upstairs for anyone feeling peckish the restaurant provides authentic Southern American cuisine at very reasonable prices. For more info on the venue and events visit their website Mamaliz.co.uk. The party gets started at 9.00pm and finishes at 2.30am. Advance tickets on the night for a credit crunch friendly £3 are available from Mama Liz’s bar and from Pat Unwin on 07967 723674 or Patrick.u@ntlworld.com. After selling out early last time the venue had to turn people away on the night and operated a one in one out policy and with tickets limited to 100 and more being charged on Mama Liz’s doors, clubbers are advised to move quickly to guarantee entrance on the night.
