CHARITY FUN AT THE OFFICE

100_0435The kind hearted bunch at The Office pub in Peterborough are holding a charity day this Valentines in aid of a local lad needing medical treatment in America.

Four year-old Jake Storer-Hamm  suffers from Late Infantile Batten disease, which affects around two in 100,000 children.

The cruel, inherited disorder strikes the brain and slowly breaks down all the body’s functions, eventually leaving those affected deaf, blind and unable to move their arms and legs.

There’s no cure for Batten disease but new treatment trials are being held at Cornell University in New York. If it becomes available, Jake’s family want him to benefit and have launched an appeal to raise funds for the £20,000 it could cost.

The team at The Office pub on Oundle Road are holding a fundraising day on February 14 called Cupid’s Love Nest which kicks off at 12pm and goes through til 11pm.

Entertainment includes live music from Monkey Boy, Irene Rae, Thornton Holmes, Shane Poole, Vicky and Blackout with the Cariba disco and karaoke. There’ll be sponsored pizza eating competitions, chest waxing and head shaving plus lots more to raise cash.

Drop by and join in the fun! For more info call Ian on 07516 177019.
